A lot of set speeds are utter bullshit. There's a highway between towns where I'm from which is a 20 minute drive on a straight stretch of road with 2-3 lanes, and it's 80 and 60 the whole way. Literally nobody does the speed limit except when there's a camera set up (weird tower with a generator trailer at the bottom) Also you can avoid speed cameras in multi-lane highways by making sure other cars are between you and the camera, works even better on motorcycles. According to my mate anyway. I'd never speed 😊

Australian government is fucking ridiculous for revenue raising like this. You’re under surveillance for EVERYTHING, and it’s getting to the point that everything you do can get you fined, they used to display speed limits on our mobile speed vans… they then removed the speed signs from the vans and over the years really quietly changed the speed limits on the roads everybody drives on, gotta be careful.

You know if you don't want them to raise revenue from these 'these things' it is very easy to do so. My father used to say that it is a voluntary contribution system.
